Merlion park fountain

The Merlion fountain is a famous tourist attraction in Singapore located near One Fullerton, Singapore. The Merlion is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, widely used as Singapore’s mascot and national personification.
The body of the Merlion symbolizes Singapore’s humble beginnings as a fishing village when it was called Temasek, which comes from the same root as the word tasek (Malay for “lake”).
His head symbolizes the original name of Singapore, or “city of lions” in Malay. The Merlion statue is 8.6 meters tall and weighs 70 tons. Designed and built by local craftsman Lim Nang Seng in 1972. September 15
