Sydney opera house
The Sydney Opera House is a multipurpose cultural event center in Sydney, Australia. The design of the building was created by the Dane Jørn Utzon. The theater was opened in 1973.
Despite its name, the theater not only hosts operas, but also many other events, with around 1,500 performances annually attended by around 1.2 million spectators. It took 14 years to build the opera house. Controversies of a political and cultural nature arose because of it.
In the end, the architect never finished the building and never returned to Australia. in 2006 UNESCO has added the Sydney Opera House to the World Heritage List and a year later the architect who created it died.
